Salary exchange

Many employers use salary exchange (also known as salary sacrifice) within their employee benefits programme, often as a method of making pension contributions. By doing so:

  • employees can make National Insurance Contribution (NIC) and income tax savings
  • employers can also make significant NIC savings - typically 13.8% of the amount of salary exchanged
